Weeks after the devastation of Hurricane Katrina we had a serious worry about the increasing number of mosquitoes that were in our area, and more importantly the diseases that these could carry like West Nile Virus and Encephalitis. I took my class of middle school kids out for a field trip to the zoo last week and just as we got there the rain stopped. I love watching my children play soccer, but what I didn’t love was coming back at the end of the day full of mosquito bites.
